The
final 2 rounds of Show Jumping saw both Patrick and Jill move up the
standings to finish 17th and 25th
respectively, which out of 47 starters is a fantastic achievement
for both riders. The competition was made up of the best riders in
North, Central and South America most of them vying for recognition
to be part of the Olympics next year. |
|
|
|
Jill
started off the day in 33rd with 68.49 penalty points and
in her first round scored 21 penalties, but with retirements and
eliminations her total of 89.40 placed her 29th overall. |
|
|
|
Patrick had 8 penalties which added to his 31.99 gave him 39.99 and
moved him up from 24th to 19th. |
|
|
|
In the
afternoon round Jill was one of only six clear rounds, but her 2
time penalties gave her a final total of 91.49 and moved her up to
25th. Patrick incurred 13 penalties to finish with a
total of 52.99 and 17th overall. |
|
|
|
Both
riders should be extremely pleased with their performances over the
3days of competition with their mounts Antille 8 and Navantus. |

The
individual competition was won by Jill Henselwood of Canada with
Rodrigo Pessoa of Brazil 2nd and Eric Lamaze and Ian
Millar of Canada 3rd and 4th. Two Brazilians
were 5th and 6th a Mexican 7th and
the only USA rider to complete the competition Cara Raether was 8th.
Mac Cone of Canada was 14th only 7 points ahead of
Patrick. These results illustrate the quality of the field. We now
await confirmation of Bermuda achieving an Individual Olympic place |
