PAN AMERICAN GAMES 2007 INFORMATION PAGE

The Pan American Games are an Olympic-style competition for athletes from all nations of the Americas. They are conducted every four years, always one year before the Olympic Games. The first edition of the Pan American Games was held in 1951, in Buenos Aires.
The Pan American Games are organized by the Organization Deportiva Panamericana (ODEPA). The Pan American Sport Organization (PASO) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
In order to participate, all athletes must entered by their National Olympic Committee. There are 42 countries invited to participate in the Pan American Games.
