Born
in Scotland with celebral palsy in 1944, Sandy began riding for
pleasure quite early in life. As founder of WindReach Farm in
Canada and WindReach recreational Village in Bermuda
www.windreach.org Sandy has always strived to do much more than
expected of him and to assist others doing the same. |

|
In
1996 he attended the Atlanta Paralympics as a spectator to support
the first Bermuda Paralympic equestrian team. Soon after, he began
training and competing at various local and international
competitions in the hopes of becoming a member of the Bermuda
Paralympic team to compete at the 2000 Paralympics in Sydney
Australia. He achieved his goal in Sydney and went on to compete at
the World Championships in Belgium in 2003 where he scored a
personal best and placed 6th overall in his grade. |

His
performance in Belgium secured his place on the Bermuda team
competing at the 2004 Paralympics in Athens. After returning from
Athens and a well deserved rest Sandy is now setting his sights on
further local, national and International competitions. |

|
In
September of 2006 Sandy competed at the FEI Pacific Rim competition
in Langley British Columbia where his scores qualified him to
compete in the 2008 Paralympics in Beijing riding for Bermuda. |

|
Sandy
will be competing at the upcoming FEI World Para Dressage
Championships being held in Hartpury England in July 2007. |

|
Sandy
is presently residing in Canada where he trains and keeps his horses
while continuing to represent Bermuda in International competitions. |
