Hello everyone, |
Well, it was quite a day and
a wonderful event overall.. The organizers made it all work despite
the the rain and floods. Always with a smile and nothing was too
much trouble. |
It was quite amazing to
drive back to Gloucester along one road in the evening and find that
road totally flooded and closed the next morning when you return.
Over the 6 days of the event, we had to use 5 different routes to
reach Hartpury College. |

Now, on to the important
matters. Sandy finished with a somewhat of a surprise mark for his
freestyle. It was 55.997 |
It was not until he had a
chance to review his score sheet that it was apparent that 3 of the
5 judges recorded a mark for a particular movement but 2 of the
judge did not see it. On the score sheets where the judges who did
give him a mark, the mark was subsequently crossed out and replaced
with a "0". |
Sandy chalked it up to
experience and the way marking can be a little inconsistent and the
importance of making required movements very clear. This will not
be missed next time. |
Overall, Sandy had a great
competition and is looking forward to continuing his drive towards
Beijing. I must say that Sandy is certainly recognized and well
respected by other athletes, officials and volunteers from around
the world. It is a real honour and pleasure to be a part of the
Bermuda Team! |
