Junior Rider Code of Conduct |

|
The Bermuda
Equestrian Federation (BEF) believes that competing in an equestrian
competition, under the membership of the BEF and under the flag of
Bermuda, provides a unique opportunity for the development of
athletic skills and good character. We expect each BEF Junior Rider
to strive to follow the Code of Conduct below. |

1.
Recognize that you are a role model for the sport and demonstrate
the principles of sportsmanship and animal welfare. |
|
|
|
2.
Demonstrate knowledge of and compete under the rules of the
competition. |
|
|
|
3. Be
dependable in fulfilling all obligations and commitments. |
|
|
|
4. Accept
responsibility for consequences of your actions and not make excuses
or blame others. |
|
|
|
5. Give
100% effort and do not to give up in the face of a setback. |
|
|
|
6. Control
anger and frustration and refrain from displays of temper and bad
language. |
|
|
|
7. Show
respect to officials of the competition (show judge, coaches,
collecting ring stewards etc). |
|
|
|
8. Accept
losing and winning graciously, congratulate opponents and display
positive behavior both in and out of the show ring. |
|
|
|
9. Show
respect to and follow the rules of the host family that you are
staying with. |
|
|
|
10. Always
take care of the horse that you are riding and treat it with the
respect and care that it deserves. |
|
|
|
By signing this
contract, I am indicating that I have read the Junior Rider Code of
Conduct and that I agree to abide by the Code. |

As a
parent/guardian of the junior rider named above, I have read and
discussed the BEF Code of Conduct with my child. I understand that
if my child violates the Code of Conduct they may be subject to
discipline, including but not limited to verbal and/or written
warnings, exclusion from competition trials, elimination from
competition and/or team. By signing this contract, I am indicating
that I understand the expectations set out in them. |
