CEA ADULT CHALLENGE |

|
1.THE COMPETITION |
|
1.1 The CEA Adult Challenge may be organised
by any member NF of the CEA. |
|
1.2 There are two categories. Category A
with height of fences 1m05 and Category B with height of fences 85cm |
|
1.3
Each Category consists of 2 competitions under Table A. In
case of equality of penalties after two rounds, the time of the
second round will decide. |

1.4
This competition is to take place in the competitors own
country on their own or borrowed horses on a date to be decided at
the beginning of each competition year. This date
may be changed due to unforeseen circumstances. |

1.5
A ‘Warm Up’ round as part of this competition
is not permitted. |
|

2.
COMPETITORS |
|
2.1
AGE: Competitors must be 17 years old and over. The age is that
on the 1st January at the beginning of the year of the
competition. |
|
2.2 There is no limit to the number of competitors that are
permitted to compete at each height. |
|
2.3 A rider may ride in both Categories but not with
the same horse. |
|
2.4 A horse that competes in one Category is not
permitted to compete in the other Category. |
|
2.5 Horses cannot be ridden by more than one rider in one
Category. |
|
2.6 Competitors may ride more than one horse in a category
but the score of only one horse will count. The horse must be
declared before the first competition begins and must be ridden as
first horse in each first round. The results obtained with
the other horses will not count towards the final standings. |

3.
TEAM CLASSIFICATIONS |
|
3.1 There will be a team classification in each category. |
|
3.2 The scores and times of the 3 best placed riders in
either Category A or Category B in each country will be combined and
will count for the Team classification. |
|
3.3 If during the overall classification a tie exists for
either first, second or third place, classification will be decided
according to the times of the 3
competitors in the second round of the final competition.
If a further tie exists the times of the 3 team competitors
in the first round of the competition will be considered. |

4.
ELIMINATIONS |
|
A
competitor eliminated in one competition of the Category may start
in the other competition of the same Category. However, his/her
results will not count towards the final classification. |

|
5. DRAW |
|
5.1 A draw for each competition will take place to decide the
starting order. |
|
5.2 The starting order for all horses and riders in the second
round of each competition will follow the reverse order of the
number of penalties in the first round, whether horses are competing
for the CEA placing or not. |

6.
COURSE(S) |
|
Category A course
will consist of a total of 12 fences which
will include two doubles. Category B course will have only one
double. |
|
|
|
For
2007 and 2008 the courses have been
designed by Steve Gibbons
of Bermuda and will be provided prior to the start of the
competition. The course designer may
change each year to give each countries FEI course designers the
experience |

7.
SIZE OF ARENA |
|
The
size of the arena will be 45m x 65m and may be grass or sand. The
arena must be enclosed or railed off. |
|
|
|
8.
THE JUDGE |
|
The
Judge must be an accredited FEI judge and each country can use their
own. |
|
|
|
9.
PRIZE LIST |
|
Countries are free to choose the number of ribbons and prizes
they wish to present at their own competition. |
|
|
|
10.
RESULTS |
|
Country Results to be forwarded to the CEA Secretary for
forwarding to the other countries. |
