Category A and B consists of 2 competitions of 2 rounds over courses designed by an FEI designated Course designer, this year’s course designer is Alan Wade, Ireland.

Category A and B:

Each of the 2 competitions consists of 2 rounds under Table A.  In case of equality of penalties after two rounds, the time of the second round will decide..

The competitions of 2 rounds must be run over a maximum of 3 days.  The 2 rounds of a same competition must be jumped on the same day.

The complete competition consists of 4 rounds.  The final score for each competitor is the total penalties of the 4 rounds and the total of his time in the 2 second rounds.  If the totals of times are equal, the fastest time in the second round of the last competition will decide.

Competitors eliminated in any round may compete in the next competition but their score will not count towards the overall competition.

A draw for each competition will take place to decide the starting order.

The order of starting for all horses and riders in the second round of each competition will follow the reverse order of the number of penalties in the first round, whether horses are competing for FEI placing or not.  In the event of equal penalties, competitors will start in the same order as in the first round of each competition.  Ribbons will be given to the first four places.

Competitors may ride more than one horse in a category but the score of only one horse will count for points.  This horse must be declared before the first competition.  The rider must complete the official FEI Declaration Form before the start of the competition..

Categories are open to all competitors from the beginning of the year in which they reach their 15th birthday.  All competitors must be current members of the Bermuda Equestrian Federation, and Bermudian or normally resident in Bermuda and all horses must be registered with the BEF.

1) - A rider may ride in both Categories but not with the same horse

2) - Team classification: the scores and times of the 3 best placed riders in each Category will count for the Team classification

3) – A horse which competes in one Category is not allowed to compete in the other category when organized simultaneously.  However, a horse may compete in Category A, B and C when organized at a different period

The courses will consist of between nine and twelve obstacles including one or two doubles, a wall, and at least two upright and two spread obstacles.  There will be no water jump, but obstacles which include a water ditch (called Liverpool’s) may be used..  For Category A the maximum dimensions will be height: 1:20m; spread 1:30m; speed: 350m/min   Category B the maximum dimensions will be:  height: 1.10m; spread: 1.20m; and speed: 325m/min
