FEI World Jumping Seminar Participants Jamaica 2003
The Jamaican Equestrian Federation organized a seminar over the weekend of
June 26th to 29th in Montego Bay in order to enable countries in our region
to benefit from the expertise of FEI Course designer Jose Gamarra and to
meet FEI Development Office Jacqueline Braissant. . |
We were able to send two delegates to the conference and Heidi Mello and
Steve Gibbons attended, together with representatives from Barbados,
Trinidad, Cayman, Haiti and Jamaica. . |

From L to R: Steve Gibbons, Jose Gamarra, Jacqueline
Braissant and Heidi Mello |
Both Steve and Heidi have submitted positive reports on the conference,
which featured sessions on Jumper Rules, Course Design theory and Course
Design practical. The experience gained, especially as it relates to
the FEI Challenge, will be shared with other designers, judges, coaches,
riders and any interested persons prior to the start of next season. . |
Steve was also able to get a bit more information on the forth coming FEI/PSI
competition taking place in Germany August 4th to August 11th this year.
The fact that we have four riders qualifying for this prestigious
competition has created something of a record amongst the participating
countries. . |
At the Seminar in Montego Bay Heidi was able to pass on some of her
expertise in the area of shoeing, giving some demonstrations to many
interested persons. . |
