.
Rayman Butterfield

Rayman is still quite active on the horse show circuit in Florida, Calgary( Spruce Meadows) and Ontario Canada. This winter he competed extensively in Florida and placed consistently in the top three placings at classes with obstacles well over five feet. His winter show circuit had him in West Palm Beach, Ocala and Tampa. He is now at Spruce Meadows for the months of June and July 2004 competing on several horses under his management at Southern Ways which as you know is operated by Mac Cone. In fact just yesterday Rayman took first place honours in a 1.30 metre class at Spruce.  He will be showing there for the next several weeks.  Rayman will return to the Ontario circuit for the balance of the summer. Rayman is continuing to broaden his horizons in the equestrian world as an accomplished show jumper and expects to compete at Grand prix level during the summer months. He is a working apprentice with Mac Cone and he will be pursuing further education in the fall 2004 as well as developing his background in all related areas of the equestrian sport. He is no longer eligible for Young Rider level since he is now over the qualifying age which is 21. But his exposure at Young Riders could probably be regarded as a major achievement in his show jumping career.  Rayman’s Dad Malcolm says, he still has his sights on both the Pan Am Games going forward and possibly Olympics thereafter but his family realise that they still have to plan and be patient here going forward.

Hi Mrs. Cherry - here is some information for you - Since Class Afloat was founded some 20 years ago, it has sailed some 400,000 nautical miles, been to 235 ports of call on 6 continents and graduated over 1000 students.  In celebration of this 20th anniversary, the class of 2004/05 are (lucky enough!!) to be  undertaking a complete circumnavigation of the world aboard the S.V. Australia, Perus Banhos, Chagos, Victoria, Seychelles, Zanzibar, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in time for a Christmas break on the 22nd December.  They will be flying home for a 2 week break (the route alone is breathtaking!) and back to the ship for January 7th, 2005 and set sail for Madagascar, Durban South Africa, Cape Town, South Africa, Walvis Bay, Namibia, St. Helena, U.K., Natal, Brazil, Cayenne, French Guyana, Port of Spain Trinidad, Pointe-a-Pitre, Guadeloupe, Dominican Republic, Nassau, Norfolk U.S.A., Woodshole, U.S., Burin, Canada and finish in Quebec City, Canada by the 28th June!!!!!! i.e. 30,000 nautical miles, 25 ports, 5 continents!!
